Hip Hip Poulenc

2024

On January 7, 2024, the French composer Francis Poulenc /fʁɑ̃.sis pu.lɛ̃k/ – an absolute Les Âmes Perdues favorite – would have turned 125.

That is why Les Âmes Perdues celebrated a whole year of Poulenc in 2024!

2024 became a celebratory year full of projects and playful experiments as a tribute to Francis – Poupoule – Poulenc, including four salons, where we highlighted and explored themes and recurring motifs from his life and work: religion, queerness, poetry, and cabaret. We kicked things off on January 7 with a birthday party. You know, one of those afternoon ones with cake and music.

Chantal De Waele interviewed Isaak about our anniversary year and our first “Priez pour paix” soirée – read the article on Klassiek Centraal !
